BIG Chase Sapphire Preferred Increase! Up to 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points (Worth AT LEAST $1,000 in Travel)

Yowza!  There’s another BIG opportunity to earn a ton of Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  But you’re going to have to spend a ton to get in on the deal.

Yesterday I told you about the highest-ever 120,000 point bonus for the Ink Business Preferred.  And now, you can earn up to 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points when you open the Chase Sapphire Preferred and meet substantial tiered spending requirements.  To unlock the full bonus, you’ll have to spend a total of $20,000 on purchases in the first year of opening your card.

This is by far the highest sign-up bonus we’ve ever seen for this card.  But because of the high spending requirement, it’s definitely not for everyone.  That said, if you don’t already have the card, and you’re able to easily meet the spending requirement, you might consider the offer.

We don’t earn a commission for the 80,000-point offer, but we’ll always tell you about new and exciting deals!

The information for this offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets.  The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Here’s what you need to know.

Highest-Ever 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points With the Chase Sapphire Preferred

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is our favorite credit card for beginners.  So it’s thrilling to see such a high sign-up bonus to help y’all get off to a strong start!  But this increased offer comes with a hefty minimum spending requirement – and many folks prefer to use that amount of spending to unlock sign-up bonuses on multiple cards.

You’ll earn:

50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening 30,000 more Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending a total of $20,000 on purchases within the first year

The $95 annual fee is waived the first year.

The normal sign-up bonus for this card is 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Note:   If you aren’t interested in such a high spending requirement, you can still use our link for the regular offer.

Spending a total of $20,000 on purchases in a year to earn an extra 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points only makes sense if you’re already a big spender.  But most of us on the Million Mile Secrets team prefer to use that spending to unlock sign-up bonuses on multiple cards.

For example, if you’re a small business owner, you could earn a similar 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points bonus by opening a Chase Ink Business Preferred.  And the minimum spending is much lower – you’ll earn the full bonus after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.

Or consider bypassing this offer and applying instead for the Chase Sapphire Reserve.  It comes with a sign-up bonus of 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account.

But because it earns 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1 on travel and dining, you’ll actually do better with this card if you spend a lot in those categories.  Because it’ll take just $10,000 in extra spending in those categories to earn 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points (3X points per $1 X $10,000).

What Could You Do With the Points?

Regardless of your travel goals, you can make great use of this increased Chase Sapphire Preferred offer.  That’s because the card earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which you can use towards travel expenses like airfare, hotels, car rentals, etc.

You can redeem your points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal at 1.25 cents each with the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  So this 80,000-point bonus is worth at LEAST $1,000 in travel (80,000 points X 1.25 cents each).  But you can get even more value if you transfer them to travel partners, like United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Hyatt.

For example, you could transfer 72,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Singapore Airlines, and use this bonus for 3 round-trip flights from California to Hawaii.  These could easily cost you $2,000 otherwise!

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are perhaps THE best kind of points to collect, because of their flexibility.  But for this offer, you’ll have to consider your spending habits and if it makes more sense to use $20,000 to meet minimum spending on multiple cards.
Bottom Line

There has never been a higher offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred than right now.  But this offer isn’t for most folks because of the high minimum spending requirement.

You’ll earn 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.  And 30,000 more Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending a total of $20,000 on purchases within the first year.

If you’re not interested in such a big spending requirement, you can still check out our link for the regular offer.  You’ll earn 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.  And it’s our favorite card for beginners!

We don’t earn a commission for this increased offer, but we’ll always share new deals with you.  Let us know what you think about this offer in the comments!
