Here are 8 ways to use the sign-up bonus from the Chase Ink Business Preferred for an amazing adventure!

1.   Get (at Least!) $1,000 in Travel Through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal

When you redeem your points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal, they’re worth a flat 1.25 cents each (unless you also have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which makes your points worth 1.5 cents each).  This means the 80,000 point Ink Business Preferred sign-up bonus is worth at least $1,000 when you use your points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal (80,000 points X 1.25 cents each).

You can book nearly all flights, hotels, car rentals, and cruises through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal.  And it’s super easy!

That said, while booking through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal takes much less effort than keeping track of award zones, hotel categories, and available award flights, you can get MUCH more from the Ink Business Preferred 80,000 point sign-up bonus by transferring your points to travel partners.

2.   Get 3 Round-Trip Tickets on United Airlines Within the US

After meeting the minimum spending requirements on the Chase Ink Business Preferred, you’ll have at least 85,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points (80,000 point sign-up bonus + at least 5,000 points from $5,000 spending requirement).  And transferring those Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines can get you lots of free travel!

For example, you could get 3 round-trip coach tickets within the US, which cost 25,000 United Airlines miles a piece (75,000 United Airlines miles total).  And take a couple of friends or family members to a US hotspot, like the Big Apple or the Windy City!

8 Fun Ways To Get 1000 Of Travel From The Chase Ink Business Preferred BonusThis Bigger Sign-Up Bonus Is Enough for 2 Round-Trip Coach Tickets Within in US. So You and a Friend Could Fly to Chicago for Free!

For example, I found a non-stop, round-trip coach ticket between San Francisco and Chicago in July 2018, for ~$457.  So using your points for 3 tickets would save you ~$1,370!

8 Fun Ways To Get 1000 Of Travel From The Chase Ink Business Preferred BonusJust 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points Can Save You Over $1,000 if You Know How to Use Them

Even then, you’d still have 10,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points left over (85,000 points – 75,000 points).  And 10,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is enough for a one-way, short-haul (700 miles or less) coach flight on United Airlines.  That’s worth at least a couple of hundred dollars in savings. 😉

3.   Fly Round-Trip in Coach to Europe (With Points to Spare!)

Transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines for a ticket to Europe would be another great use of the Ink Business Preferred sign-up bonus.

A round-trip coach ticket from anywhere in the US to Europe costs 60,000 United Airlines miles!

That’s enough for another round-trip coach flight within the US.  Earning 2 free round-trip tickets from a single sign-up bonus is a pretty great deal!

4.   Get a Free Luxury Hyatt Hotel Stay

When you transfer your points to Chase airline and hotel partners, you can get thousands of dollars in luxury flights and hotels.

For example, with 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, you could book 4 free nights the stunning Park Hyatt Mallorca.  It costs 20,000 Hyatt points per night in May 2018.

The cash rate during that time of year is ~$495 per night.

So you’d save ~$1,980 ($495 per night X 4 nights) if you used your Chase Ink Business Preferred’s sign-up bonus there!  That’s HUGE!

5.   Fly Business Class to Europe

Another great way to get Big Travel with Chase Ultimate Rewards points is by transferring them to airline partners for expensive Business or First Class seats.

For example, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines and book a one-way Business Class flight from the US to Malta for 60,000 United Airlines miles.  But if you bought the same ticket, it could easily cost $3,000+!

That’s enough for 2 one-way short haul flights (700 miles or less) within the US.  That could save you $100s more!

6.   Get 3 Round-Trip Tickets to Ireland

After completing the minimum spending requirements on the Chase Ink Business Preferred card, you’ll have at least 85,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  That’s enough for 3 round-trip tickets from certain US cities to Ireland!

That’s because you can transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aer Lingus for an award flight.  Or book the same flights at the same price by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to British Airways Avios points.

You can fly from these cities to Dublin for 13,000 Aer Lingus or British Airways Avios points one-way (26,000 points round-trip) in coach during the off-season:

Boston Chicago Hartford Newark New York – JFK Philadelphia (starting March 2018) Washington, DC

And  off-peak times include nearly 8 months out of the year.  So there’s plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the cheaper award seats. 😉

For example, I found 3 round-trip tickets between Washington, DC, and Dublin on Aer Lingus in the end of April 2018, for ~$691 each.  So you’d save ~$2,073 by using your points instead!

7.   A Round-Trip Business Class Flight (or Nearly 2!) to Hawaii

You can also transfer your points to other airlines, like Korean Air.  For example, you can transfer 45,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air for a round-trip Business Class flight from mainland US to Hawaii.

8.   18 Short Flights All Around the World

After you meet the minimum spending requirements on the Chase Ink Business Preferred, you’d have enough points for 18 short-haul flights around the world.  Because you can still book short one-way flights under 651 miles outside the US for only 4,500 British Airways Avios points.

This is a great way to use Chase Ultimate Rewards points because it can add up to save you a LOT of money!  And is extremely useful for short but expensive flights, like:

Qualifying for a Small Business Credit Card

This is a small business card, so you’ll need to have a for-profit venture to get it.  And you might qualify for a small business card without realizing it!

If you earn income for performing a service, or selling goods, you could have a small business.  This can include side jobs like selling items on eBay, driving for Lyft, or tutoring.

You do NOT need an EIN (Employer Identification Number) to apply for a small business credit card.  You can apply with just your social security number as a sole proprietor.

Bottom Line

When you open the Ink Business Preferred and spend $5,000 within 3 months of account opening, you’ll earn 80,000 bonus Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

You can use those points to easily book $1,000 in travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal with NO blackout dates.  Or you can do a bit of research and receive thousands of dollars in travel by transferring them to travel partners!
