This Targeted Offer Is Back! Earn Up to 65,000 Cathay Pacific Miles – It’s a Good Deal If You’re Over 5/24

There was a targeted offer in October to earn up to 65,000 Cathay Pacific miles with the Cathay Pacific Visa Signature® Card.  If you didn’t get an email or letter about it, check again because new offers were sent out this week!

This matches the highest offer there’s ever been for the card.  If you’re over 5/24 and looking for an easy card to add to your wallet, you might consider applying.

With 65,000 Cathay Pacific miles, you can fly round-trip in coach to Asia, or one-way in Cathay Pacific’s ultra-fancy Business Class seat!  These flights can easily cost $1,000s, so this is a good deal if you have a plan for the sign-up bonus.

And if earning Cathay Pacific miles is your thing, you can use the following cards to effectively earn 1.5 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent:

Capital One® Venture® Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card Capital One® Spark® Miles for Business Capital One® Spark® Miles Select for Business

That’s a great rate for non-bonus spending!

Earn Up to 65,000 Cathay Pacific Miles With a New Targeted Offer

The terms are slightly different this time around.  Though the minimum spending is the same as October’s offer and still matches that best-ever offer.

If you were targeted to apply for the Cathay Pacific Visa Signature® Card via email or snail mail, you can earn:

40,000 Cathay Pacific miles after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days Additional 25,000 Cathay Pacific miles and spending another $3,000 within the first 6 months

That’s $5,000 in total spending, which is reasonable considering how much time you have to complete it.

You’ll also get:

2 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent on Cathay Pacific and in-flight purchases 1.5 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent on dining 1.5 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent on purchases outside of the US 1 Cathay Pacific mile on all other purchases

There’s a $95 annual fee and no foreign transaction fees.  The normal bonus is 40,000 Cathay Pacific miles, so this is a big jump for those who were targeted!

Fly Between New York and Vancouver in Business Class for 25,000 Cathay Pacific Miles Each Way!

I would NOT recommend this card if you’re starting out with miles & points.  But if you’re over 5/24 or locked out of deals with banks like AMEX, Chase, or Citi, this deal is worth considering.

Synchrony Bank issues the Cathay Pacific Visa Signature® Card and doesn’t have as many strict application rules.  I’d personally hold out for a best-ever offer like this one.  So if you were invited to apply, it’s worth consideration.

Keep the Miles Flowing With Capital One Cards

The Capital One® Venture®Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit CardCapital One® Spark® Miles for Business, and Capital One® Spark® Miles Select for Business cards all earn 2X Capital One miles per $1 spent on purchases.

And you can transfer Capital One Miles to Cathay Pacific at a 2:1.5 ratio.  Which means you’ll earn 1.5 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent.  That’s the same or better earning rate as the Cathay Pacific Visa Signature® Card.  If you like earning transferrable miles, consider any of these cards to keep your account topped-up.

Remember, Capital One has 13 other transfer partners.  And you can redeem your miles toward purchases at a rate of 1 cent each, so they’re versatile.

Cathay Pacific is also a direct 1:1 transfer partner with AMEX Membership Rewards and Citi ThankYou points.

You Can Still Fly Cathay Pacific With Other Miles

You don’t need Cathay Pacific miles to fly on the airline.  You can snag a seat on a Cathay Pacific flight with American Airlines miles or Alaska Airlines miles, too.

For example, you can earn up to 50,000 American Airlines miles with the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® right now.  And small business owners can earn 70,000 American Airlines miles with a limited-time offer on the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard®, which is enough to fly in Cathay Pacific Business Class one-way to Asia.

That’ll get you started toward your own award trip.  Here’s how team member Jasmin used American Airlines to treat her family to a Business Class trip, including flights on Cathay Pacific!
